Biography —
Saturn Sigourney Rage (she/they) is a PhD candidate in the Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Kansas. There they spend their time in affect theory, specifically focusing on joy, inconvenience, and horizons, and how trans* interrupts each of these. Their forthcoming dissertation project studies the affect of joy in this regard, and does so through examinations of contemporary lifeworlds, trans*ed waiting rooms, longed-for utopias, and ancestrally co-written explorations of trans* futurity. They are an autotheorist, a user of trans* as method, and a lover of that which perverts the false binaries.
