Marian Phillips

Marian Phillips is a PhD student in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.Their research focuses on queer and trans* representation in horror media. More specifically, their work emphasizes the importance of the genre and its subgenres as a means of communicating social, cultural, and political discourses as well as the affects that manifest on screen. Phillips's most recent publication titled "The Technological Closet: Black Mirror's Dystopic Image of Queer Futurity" appeared in Femspec (23.1). They received their MA in Women's History from Sarah Lawrence College in 2018.
