AJ Rio-Glick

AJ Rio-Glick is a first-year graduate student in WGSS. They received their bachelor's degree in Social Action/Social Change and Creative Writing at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, where they published a thesis on female masculinity in the twentieth century. They later took graduate coursework in Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh, during which time they co-authored Black Ecology and Critical Environmental Justice for Environmental Justice journal and organized around prison abolition. AJ’s current areas of interest include trans perspectives of masculinity in the United States, de-colonial queer theory, critical whiteness studies, and transness and spirituality.
