Abigail Barefoot is a third year doctoral student in Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. Her research explores the possibilities and limitations of using restorative justice in cases of sexuali assault. In particular, Abigail is interested in how emotions shape articulations of accountability, harm, and justice and how those articulation impact restorative justice practices and outcomes. Abigail's research has been published in The Internet Journal of Restorative Justice and The Journal of Critical Thought and Praxis. She is also a recipient of the 2018 University of Kansas Carlin Graduate Teaching Awards for excellence in teaching.
Fall 2018: Abigail is teaching WGSS 327 "Perspectives in Lesbian: Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Studies" in the classroom and also teaching a section of WGSS 327 online.
