Shawna Shipley-Gates

Shipley-Gates' academic interests include Black feminisms, sexual and reproductive health; critical health psychology, and digital humanities. Her research interest highlights the significance of digital landscapes for cultural literacy of Black women's sexual health behaviors and how those experiences can be translated into effective yet sex-positive education; healthcare and wellness practices; and policy and advocacy work. Shawna received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Spelman College; a Master of Public Health degree from New York University; and a Master of Arts degree from University of Kansas.
