Graduate Student Funding

Choose a category to the left to begin searching for funding. Each source of funding includes the following information.

Deadline: rough timing of annual competition

Citizenship status: required nationality or citizenship - read closely for non-US students especially

Degre status: GS = graduate student, ABD = after dissertation proposal defended (sometimes you can apply before ABD as long as will be awarded after), PhD = after PhD is awarded

Duration: describes time period that the award will support. Note differences for partial versus full year projects.

Residency/Travel: travel requirements, if any; e.g. if award is only eligible for international research, or if you are expected to move to library/university if granted award

Maximum Award: maximum amount of money the award will provide
