Amber is a first year PhD student in Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies at the University of Kansas. She earned a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Alabama with a focus on Gender, Literature, and Culture in 2014. She then went on to receive a dual MA in Anthropology and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality STudies from Brandeis University in 2018. Her thesis discusses the culture and stigma surrounding the BDSM community and its practitioners in the United States, and she hopes to explore the topic further in the future. Amber's research interests include feminism and feminist theory, human sexuality, queer theory, popular culture, psychohistory, and social policy.
